Setting up the Arm
Bar - Posture

Turi, may I use your arm?

It is very common, in going for the arm bar on the near arm, to see people
leaving a "tail" behind. Notice how the foot is far from the
opponent's body and how high the hips are. So far this is not a problem
until....

you sit to extend the arm. Having the leg next to your own body does not
allow for easy movement. And having the hip so high will cause it to land
far from his shoulder. In trying to adjust the control the opponent inevitably
escapes.

A better way to set this up is to bring that foot close to the opponent's
head as the other leg moves over the opponent's head. This way there is
good control, weight on his shoulder/arm and the hip will land close to
the body.

Pay special attention to how close the hips are to the opponent's body.
Also, Turi's arm is fully embraced by Silverado. As you sit back raise
the knee along his body (the right leg in this case) squeezing your knees
together.

Once in control, adjust the hands for the finish. Tap, Tap!!!
